Recording Done Right

• Getting your songs onto disc for all to listen and enjoy is what most of us dream of.
• Years of experience recording bands and solo performers tells me how to tailor the studio environment so it is conducive to comfort and creativity.
• A friendly environment and a good working rapport are key ingredients for making great recordings. Let's face it, most of us will not be the next Lennon and McCartney. Enjoying the process and great service is a top priority!  That is always the goal.
• I'm not an electrical engineer. I can't explain the technical aspects of what's going on inside your tube amp.  That said, if you are looking for a specific sound, I'll point you in the right direction. That translates into less of your time spent dialing in your sound and more time focused on getting that magical take. 
• If you want to sound like Doc Watson, "Dimebag" or Dr. John, I can help find you the sound you're after.
• Some engineers will do anything to keep the clock running.
• I will have your project delivered on time and within the budget you had planned on.

Mixing

• Have you recorded your own project at home?
• Proper tools and expertise to mix your tunes into a modern masterpiece?
• With your guidance I will carefully bring out all of the goodness you put in, while sweeping the less fortuitous emanations under the rug where no one will be bothered by them.
• During the process, it is less about what i want to hear and more about bringing your vision to fruition.

Two Locations

• Need a mix done in a hurry?  I've got a really great listening environment at home. 
• I've got a world class set of tools and years of experience getting the sound my clients are after.
• it is not the sort of environment for entertaining a client, but it gets the job done quite nicely!

I really enjoy working in the comfort of my own home out on the coast. Who wouldn't? The beach is never too far.  Give me a burrito from Happy Taco and a "warms the Soul" hot Chai from Raman's Gourmet Coffee and Tea, - Half Moon Bay's purveyor of the best Chai outside of Bombay and poetry that speaks of humanity on a spiritual plane. - 

On average, I spend more time on a project when the project is cued up on my system and i can listen semi-critically while checking my email or having a bowl of cereal. The more time I spend listening, the better. While listening in the background formulate my plan of attack.  When I get down to the actual work, I can intuitively move along at a healthy pace using an appropriate amount of confidence that only comes with familiarity of the material.
